If I had to pick something from Marni collaboration with H&M definitely would be an accessory. I really like the bold necklaces and bracelets that will be available in selected H&M stores in two days. I expecially like how plastic has been used. Today I get back to you with another tutorial on how to recycle plastic packages and use them to make a necklace. If you want to make the necklace like mine have a look around the house and search for white plastic packages. I used empty orbit gum bottles (nothing is safe from my crafty mania).
I cut petals shapes from the plastic Ho ritagliato dei petali dalla plastica |
I heated the plastic just enough to make it moldable Ho scaldato la plastica giusto il necessario per renderla malleabile |
I pressed the petal with two fingers to curve it Ho schiacciato tra due dita i petali per curvarli |
I put together the flower sewing it with invisible thread Ho composto il fiore cucendo i petali con il filo invisibile |

you are a genius !!! :D
wow it's amazing!
@nathalia
not much, put the plastic into the water and warm it up. Under heat the plastic becomes a little more soft and less stiff, it's something you can't see just feel at touch
So cute. I would love to have a Sunday crafts day :)

How did you sew the bits together?
Did you stick a needle through the plastic or...?
@tintin yes I pierced the plastic with the needle
How do you cut the plastic?
Hi @despelucada! This plastic is very thin and can be cut with plain scissors, also old manicure scissors if you have them can work. I say old because I wouldn't use new ones for plastic, have fun with your necklace!
hi. thank you so much for the great tutorial. have been dying to find the tutorial about this marni necklace :). anyway i have several questions, how long you boiled the petal and how did you sew the petal together. it supposed to be hard right? thank you so much :D:D

@cynthia this plastic is very thin can can be cut with scissors and also pierced by a sharp needle. I sewed the petals with invisible thread and pierced like they were beads with needle. I boiled them very little, they become immedialety soft, in a minute or so. I hope this helps, let me know if you have other questions and have fun with your diy! :)
