 Some pieces in our wardrobe just go with everything, like a pair of jeans. They can take you from day to night  with heels instead of flats and the outfit can feel and look different. I wish all clothes were like these, able to change face according to the situation.  I really want a pair of fringe boots but I still need a pair of simple boots. So instead of changing forever the look of my black boots I decided to make a detachable fringe accessory for them. Now they are simple boots during am, fun boots during pm, for once we can have it all, hurray!

Flame shoes DIY

My favorite shoes are on fire! Wait there's no need to extinguish it! My new diy shoes  take inspiration from the craziest shoes of the season: the flame shoes. I cut red and white pvc in the shape of flames and I glued them onto a pair of black pumps impatient to get a new personality. Now they're ready to set the party on fire!


Le mi scarpe preferite hanno preso fuoco! Non c'è bisogno di correre a spegnere l'incendio. Le mie nuove scarpe DIY si ispirano ad alcuni  tra gli accessori più pazzi della stagione e oggi vi mostrerò come realizzare il vostro paio incollando del pvc rosso e bianco su un paio di scarpe classiche impazienti di sfoggiare un aspetto più accattivante.

 I cut the red shapes a little bit smaller than white ones then I glued them together
Ritagliate le stesse forme bianche e rosse - ritagliate quelle rosse solo un po' più piccole e incollatele una sull'altra

I reinforced the flame at the back with black leather so they can burn in the air
then I glued these shapes onto the shoes.

I see a rising number of comfortable shoes available on the market: loafers at first and now sneakers. Designers are tempting us with comfort,what do you think? Are you ready to come down your heels to step into a pair of stylish sneakers?

If the answer is positive and you're looking for inspiration have a look at Maison Martin Margiela shoes, only partially colored. This look can be copied with a pair of white sneakers we already own and a can of spray paint. Concentrate the spray on the tip and then blend it on the lenght of the shoe. I can't wait to try it with a bright color.

Le abbiamo viste un po' ovunque, ai piedi di star e bloggers: sono le sneakers di Isabel Marant, le scarpe che danno il via alla stagione delle sneakers very expensive.
Da un po' di tempo gli scaffali dei negozi (più i cataloghi online) sono pieni di scarpe comode: prima di loafers, ora di sneakers. I designers ci tentano con il comfort, voi che dite? Siete pronte a scendere dai tacchi?

Se la risposta è si e siete in cerca di ispirazione, date un'occhiata alle scarpe sportive firmate Maison Martin Margiela, colorate solo parzialmente. Possiamo imitarle con un paio di sneakers bianche e una bomboletta di vernice spray. Concentrate lo spruzzo in punta e sfumatelo lungo la lunghezza. Proverò sicuramente a replicare questo look magari con un colore vivace.

Glitter shoes are an irresistible fashion DIY, it's easy to do and the result is awesome. Please raise the hand everyone who has glittered his shoes this year.  Nobody can ignore a pair of sparkly feet and as the Paolo Nutini song says "I put some new shoes on and suddently everything's right", we all want new shoes. Is there anything better than free shopping in your closet? 

Today DIY is about Valentine's day shoes. Grab your pair of black pumps, a brush, glue (diyer best friend) and a pot of glitters. 

1. Dip the brush into the glue
2. Draw an heart shape on the back of your heels with the brush (trace the shape with chalk to be accurate)
3. Fill the shape with glue
4. pour the glitters
5. Let it dry
6. spray a sealant on your hearts

Se una volta la porporina era esclusivo appannaggio dei centrotavola natalizi, oggi la tentazione di illuminare le nostre scarpe con i glitter è diventata irresistibile. Alzi la mano chiunque ha realizzato un paio di scarpette luccicanti quest'anno. Un diy semplice da realizzare con un risultato veramente appariscente.

San Valentino è vicino, realizzate un paio di scarpe a tema velocemente seguendo questi step.

Avete bisogno di:  scarpe, colla vinilica, glitter, spray fissante per i colori acrilici, un pennello

1. intingete il pennello nella colla
2. disegnate con il pennello imbevuto di colla la forma di un cuore sul retro del tacco (per una maggiore precisione tracciate prima la forma con un gessetto)
3. riempite di colla il cuore
4. versateci sopra i glitter
5. lasciate asciugare
6. spruzzate un fissante

Last summer we talked about the fluffy shoes designed by Alexander Wang for fall 2011 asking if they were wearable or not. We both agreed that they were very dramatic. If you tried to forget about them i'll tell you: the trend of the fluffy shoes is here to stay; in fact during the latest Milano fashion week (read my report of Milano fashion week here) a sassy, fluffy detail appeared again on shoes in the Antonio Marras spring 2012 collection. Feathers are not suitable for daily wear but they can make special a pair of shoes for a evening (maybe new year's eve?), so what if they were detachable? In this fashion diy you'll see how to create a detachable feather clip decoration that can be added on top of your shoes. Since it is detachable it can decorate wedding shoes, an headband, it can be used as a brooch, as a ring, you can pin it wherever you like! You can give a new look to your shoes in minutes! What do you think of the result?


Le scarpe disegnate da Alexander Wang, sono di quelle che dividono le donne in due gruppi: quelle che le amano e quelle che le odiano. Se pensavate che fosse un trend da archiviare vi informo che le scarpe "pelose" sono comparse nelle ultime sfilate di Milano nella collezione di Antonio Marras. Tutte concordiamo siano molto sceniche e magari poco adatte ad essere indossate tutti i giorni, magari solo per una serata speciale (magari proprio Capodanno?). E se fossero rimuovibili? Nel fai-da-te di oggi vi mostrerò come realizzare una decorazione in piume rimuovibile che può essere inserita sulle scarpe. Essendo rimuovibile questa decorazione può essere appuntata su cerchietti,giacche,anelli, dovunque vogliate. Sono necessari pochi step per donare un nuovo look alle vostre scarpe, che ne pensate?

Glitter boots DIY

In a previous post we talked about how to draw fashion illustrations and I tried to draw my ideal Christmas night outfit planning to make all the three pieces part of that outfit before Christmas. If you have been reading this blog for a while you may have noticed my passion for shoes so I started building my outfit from shoes! This party season is all about shiny sequins and bright glitters and I've been obsessing over the cute Miu Miu glitter boots (now sold out everywhere) with their strange (and a little bit goofy) banana heel so I decided to make an inspired version of them. See how I made them.

Qualche tempo fa ci siamo interrogate su come disegnare i figurini di moda e io ho tentato di disegnare il mio outfit ideale per la sera di Natale programmando di realizzare l'abito e gli accessori in tempo per indossarli. Se leggete questa pagina da un po' avrete notato la mia passione per le scarpe e com'era prevedibile non ho saputo resistere a realizzare loro per prime. Questa stagione prevede un uso smodato di glitter e paillettes e  gli stivaletti di Miu Miu (ora sold out) mi son piaciuti subito con quel loro strano tacco un po' goffo, vediamo quindi come glitterare i nostri stivaletti.

 "Our shoes make people smile" says Yagmur Caner Alzayat,turkish shoe designer and I agree with her. The shoes she makes are funny and creative. This shade of blue is just perfect! I too want to add a pair of mustache on my shoes, I'll cut a piece of felt or suede and I'll glue it on them!

Mi ha fatto venir voglia di aggiungere un paio di baffi anche sulle mie scarpe, ritaglierò la forma in feltro o in camoscio e la incollerò sulla punta di un paio di decoltè.

Ok I admit I might be a little obsessed with glitters these days. In my defence I have to say that they seems to go well with everything! I put my eyes on this pic taken during Vogue fashion night out in Milan: these shoes look fantastic! White glue and a bottle of glitters can make a miracle!

Ok, devo ammettere di essere un tantino ossessionata dai glitter ultimamente. Cosa possiamo farci se sembrano valorizzare qualunque capo! Guardate queste scarpe fotografate durante la Vogue fashion night out, non sono fantastiche? Ecco il miracolo che una bottiglia di glitter e un po' colla vinilica possono fare!

In love with Casadei pointy shoes

With these lipstick red Casadei pointy toes it's love at first sight! I love the v shaped edge, it's such a unique take on the classic pump. Lea Michele already had the chance to wear these fantastic heels (although not of her size) and we'll find them in shops at a price around $700. For those who like the style but not the price maybe it is possible to cut out this design from a pair of classic pointy toe like I did with for the Morgana shoes by Stella McCarteney!


Con queste scarpe rosso lacca di Casadei è stato amore a prima vista. Che bello lo scollo a v, originale rilettura della classica decoltè. Lea Michele ha già avuto occasione di indossarle (anche se non della sua taglia!),noi le troveremo in vendita ad un prezzo intorno ai 500 euro. Per coloro che ne apprezzano lo stile ma non il prezzo potranno forse provare a ritagliare lo scollo a v da un paio di classiche scarpe a punta, come ho fatto io con le scarpe Morgana di Stella McCarteney.
