Zippers used as necklaces

Zipped shirt crafted by Brassy Apple

From jewelry to clothing and accessories as you can see zippers can be very versitile.
Here's for you some other pics for inspiration.
First we have a Couture example, the jacket from Gianfranco Ferrè: there zippers are fully functional and change the appearance of the jacket once closed,an example of fine art and creativity.
Then a jacket with soft ruffles emphasized by zippers. I love the look on the back, there's a "fake" cleavage on the back and 2 zippers on shoulders.
The clutch you see is from YSL,here zippers make ruffles, this is one project that can be done at home!
Have you seen the zipped collar?Fun and easy to replicate!

Neon

:

This year we've seen neon coloured hair.If you're not so brave to dye your hair you can anyway color up your style with a neon colored dress or accessory. These energetic colors will improve our mood. We'll be like a splash of color onto a grey background (it's still winter by the way).

Littlefly  jewelry

In these days we carry books in our usb drivers but the designer of Littlefly thought they could be carried in rings too,not for reading them though. Her jewelry is made by making holes into books and then laminating the pages and finishing all in high gloss. The piece of jewelry is then placed back into the book. I don't know if this is a tribute to literature or a subliminal suggestion to do something with books different from reading them :P
In any case her jewelry is interesting! In the end her rings don't even look like made of paper but look like natural stones!

Givenchy Couture

Vogue GalleryVogue GalleryVogue GalleryVogue GalleryVogue GalleryVogue GalleryVogue Gallery

No runway for Givenchy Haute Couture collection. Ten dresses have been shown to the buyers and press in three rooms of a beautiful hotel.
Only asian models for the collection signed by Riccardo Tisci inspired by the japanese dancer Kazuo Ohno. It's a japan between past and present with the help of Philip Treacy who again designed the robots hats.
These dresses maintain a strong influence from the past collection (fall 2010).
Heavyy embroidered birds and wings chase each other over the mesh dress leaving visible parts of the body.White is interrupted by splash of bright colours on the back.
If you see the details the complexity of the embroidery is unbealivable.Tisci says it took 4000 hours to finish one dress.
We can do nothing but appreciate these work of art that are going to cost $100 000 each.
This take us to the point:who is going to wear these dresses? They look like daring bridal dresses,we'll see if someone like Daphne Guinness (who else?) will be spotted in one of these.

All hail king Giorgio

Yesterday i almost cried when i saw the new spring summer 2011 collection of Armani Privè by Giorgio Armani.
An incredible collection from the absolute talent, the pure genius of Giorgio Armani.
The inspirations are precious stones, their cuts, the light they reflect so fabrics become liquid, lightened by movement, faces are embellished by a lace mask full of stones.
Heads are decorated by the hats designed by Philip Treacy. They look like flying saucers and dresses look lightened by electrical discharges. We are in the future.
Dresses have essential but surprising cuts. Borsers are lifted, other dresses are cut in the middle and seem floating around the model.
Colours are those of precious stones:red, blue, acid green, but even grey and sky blue.
This collection is a perfect example of innovation but with supreme elegance, the creation of a genious, king Giorgio, who continues to inspire many others.
