I was reading the blog of the queen of fashionistas and i saw this bag heavily decorated with charms, actually decorated with "santini" that means little images representing saints. It's beautiful; i thought maybe it's Dolce and Gabbana, they're famous for crosses and religous decorations but no. Anna Dello Russo decorated this bag by herself giving a uber look to a plain black bag (i'm sure that that plain black bag must be at least YSL). If you want to own a bag like her one do so:
1) take a black bag
2) lots of safety pin
3) religious charms
(if you're italian just go to your aunts and ask for them)
browse ebay with (religious charms or religious medals)
4) pin these medals on the bag and you're done

(Dolce and Gabbana charm bag)
If you would like to skip the religious theme you could collect charms that you like at your antique market or buy them on ebay and pin on the bag.
Or go with the military medals, they're coloured and come in different shapes so the bag won't be repetitive.

Uber cool! I've never completed a DIY before, but I do have things noted in my bookmarks that I aspire to one day try. I am embellishing a tote bag, but it's mostly with pin backs and I'm not nearly done with it. I still haven't gotten around to doing the cross dress inspired by Jeffrey Campbell. This will be another thing on my list. Thank you.
I'm glad you like it! This is the type of DIY where the repetition of a detail give the effect, no one would have noted a single pin but plenty of them make the statement!
